Argentinian-born singer, composer and keyboard player Muriel Marco is set to dazzle Cape Town audiences Sunday 28 August at The Masque Theatre in Muizenberg.
Known for her Jazz and World musical styles, Marco is ready to impress her Cape Town fans with her latest offering: Muriel Marco – No Direction (ND) Project.
Having performed as part of international group Tucan Tucan, as well as releasing her very own music, the Muriel Marco – ND Project sees Muriel composing and playing music with no boundaries regarding genre and instrumentation.
Marco, says she is excited to take to the stage.
“I'm thrilled to bring this dream to fruition because it is a musical project that I have envisioned for many years. A true reflection of my musical journey,” admits Marco.
ND Project music is well rooted on Marco’s Argentinian, Latin, African and Jazz background but Alternative and even Pop music influences emerge in the compositions.
From Tango to Maskandi, Swing to Chacarera, Mbaqanga to Toba lullaby, expect a vibrant, original project that will ensure a unique experience.
This musical experience will be enhanced by the skilled musicians Shaun Johannes, Justin Bellairs and Kevin Gibson.
"There will also a number of surprises on the show: Some Argentinian sweet treats and some exciting guest appearances,” says Marco.
At the age of 19, Marco embarked on a journey from Argentina to South Africa to study English where she automatically fell in love with Southern African music styles. It's these styles, together with her love for Jazz and Folklore Music, that inspired Marco to develop the Muriel Marco – ND Project.
“Cape Town music lovers will be transported into my world in which creativity, unheard sounds and feelings collide.”
