Press Release: Funnier Than Them heads to the Fugard Theatre

Funnier Than Them, starring Deep Fried Man, Chris Forrest and Warren Robertson heads to the Fugard Studio Theatre 2-6 September.

Chris Forrest, Warren Robertson and Deep Fried Man’s individual achievements in the South African comedy industry are substantial, including television shows, films, Comedy Central specials, performances at some of South Africa’s biggest comedy events (Bafunny Bafunny, Blacks Only, Heavyweight Comedy Jam and more), as well as multiple awards and nominations.

Now the three combine for their hit ensemble show Funnier Than Themthat launched at the recent Grahamstown National Arts Festival to packed houses and critical acclaim. The show will run at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town for a limited season from September 2 to 6 2014.

Each of these three comics has their own unique style, with Chris Forrest’s dry one-liners and perfect comedy timing, Warren Robertson’s dark, intelligent humour and Deep Fried Man’s blend of musical comedy and satire ensuring there will be something for everyone. The trio is also proud to announce that the show also features, as a guest, legendary old-school SA comic Gerry D Atric.

Funnier Than Them is a stand up comedy show like no other. Blending elements of crowd interaction, improv and animation it is guaranteed to deliver an evening of laughs from some of the country’s funniest comedians.
