For nearly 20 years, the popular annual Traditional Children’s Magic Festival has been charming Cape Town’s little ones and their parents during the winter school holidays and the 2014 edition, to be held at the College of Magic in Claremont from Wednesday 2 to Saturday 5 July, is set to be the best yet!

The College of Magic’s warm and mysterious Victorian manor will play host to all of the Festival’s magical hi-jinks, including dazzling magic shows featuring well-known guest performers, exhilarating treasure hunts and hands-on, interactive workshops where aspirant little magicians will learn wield their wands and to perform their own tricks.

Come and take a peek behind the wizard’s curtain as the Festival’s more than 50 jugglers, clowns, mimes, escapologists and stilt walkers take you on an unbelievable indoor adventure of non-stop fun, music, magic and theatre.

Now in its 34th year of teaching the art of magic and its allied arts, the College of Magic, the only organisation of its kind in the world, has been hosting the Traditional Children’s Magic Festival since 1994. The 2014 event is sponsored by National Arts Council of South Africa and is suitable for the whole family.

“Year after year, we see young magic enthusiasts, their moms, dads and grandparents return to the Festival, eager to see which new astonishing acts our performers have conjured for them. It’s fun and affordable family entertainment and we look forward to seeing everyone again,” says David Gore, director of the College of Magic.

Let the Traditional Children’s Magic Festival performers entertain you at the College of Magic, 215 Imam Haron Road (formerly Lansdowne Road) in Claremont this winter school holiday. The two-hour magical show experience runs daily at 10:30 am and again at 2:30 pm.

Tickets are R60 each and include a free magical goodie bag. For bookings and more information, please call + 27 (0) 21 683 5480 or visit www.collegeofmagic,com
