Two of South Africa’s most popular young actors will again entertain audiences with the authentic South African story, Platform 9, on 02 December 2013- 25 January 2014, BAXTER THEATRE.

The production had sold-out performances at the JOBURG THEATRE Space.com (23-26 May 2012) , Port Elizabeth (2 June 2012) and 2013 Festivals all over the country.

The bilingual play, directed and written by Christo Davids (“Errol” in7de Laan) features actors Maurice Paige (“Calvin” in Isidingo) and Theodore Jantjies (“Xander” in7de Laan).

The story takes place on Cape Town station’s Platform 9. Two very good friends, Theo - a chef, and Mau - a budding Hip-hop artist, are on their way to Johannesburg. Theo gets an opportunity to cook in Johannesburg at a celebrity’s wedding, and convinces Mau to pay for the trip with the promise that he may perform at the wedding. After a long, struggling journey to the station by taxi, they land up on Platform 6 instead of 9 and miss their train to Johannesburg.

“The show is based purely on entertainment through story-telling with song and dance and two of South Africa’s award-winning actors, taking the audience on a journey they won’t forget soon. It is a story of friendship. The laughs and the tears, the disappointments and the joys and how we can fix each other’s lives, simply by being part of it,” said Davids.
